5 in a row

|

On Saturday, Walsall take on lowly Stevenage, looking to make it 5 unbeaten in the league for only the second time this season. On paper, we should be extending the run, however it’s Walsall were on about.

Stevenage are on a run of 7 losses in a row, and are 8 points from safety. Their bad form is not just a recent thing, all season, in the league, they have only won a total of 3 games. On top of this, they have a goal difference of -24, and after replacing Westley, have had more managers than wins.

All that being said, Stevenage have a new management team at the helm. They have appointed former striker Alex Revell in charge until the end of the season. Revell, who is new to management, has called on his former manager Russell Slade for help. Slade brings a wealth of experience to his new role as ‘managerial consultant’.

No doubt the pair will be doing all they can to try and ensure Stevenage’s football league status, and the players may improve with a new manager, as is often the case. So Walsall will have to guard against any complacency against a team that will be fighting for survival.

Personally, I feel we have looked good in a 4-2-3-1 formation, and I would like to see it displayed from the outlet on Saturday. Adebayo and Holden have shone, and I hope to see more of the same.

Tickets are available through the clubs eticketing or by calling before midday Friday. Tickets are also available on the day at a £2 increase.
