A draw, but still in the title race!

Oh dear! We are no longer at the top, but that will hopefully change. And, as Paul Ince would say, to ‘kick you in the goolies` while your on the ground in pain anyway, Michael Ricketts has decided to stay on cloud nine and not drop down to where he started his career. Fine by me, he has scored as many goals as a goat; and at least the goat would be 100% fit every week; unfortunate for Ricketts. Anyway, Lincoln are now top and well done to them. And my message is to enjoy it while you can, because Wycombe are after you too. Ha ha!

I was in tears, while rolling around on the floor with my hands clinching my face, when I heard the FA cup draw for round one, as Macclesfield away is going to be tough. As long as we don`t do a Slough, then we should be ok, but Walsall and cup competitions do not go together at the moment. The last decent cup run was back in the 2002/2003 season, where we went out in the 5th round of the FA cup to Fulham 2-1 at home (the Richard Keys and Pete Waterman pie incident; if you watched it on Sky). Well, next up in the league is Torquay at home. Should be three points, but it could be worse than the MK Dons game, so be warned. Let`s hope not though.

Lastly, this week I would like to agree with Dickie Dosh. Some of the Walsall fans do cheese me off with their negative attitude towards the way the Saddlers play. If you want to see decent football, go and watch Aston Villa or another Premiership team who can play a good standard of football. League Two isn`t going to have a Ronaldhino is it really? Ishmel Demontagnac is as good as it gets I`m afraid. However, throughout the time I have supported Walsall, there have always been those two or three fans – as Dickie said – that are never happy, even if it was 5-1 to us, they would still say that ‘Wacka`s kicking was worse than their Grandmothers cooking.` I sometimes hear: “We will never get promoted!” Why bother supporting the team if all you are going to do is moan, no matter what is happening. If there is a case for it, say the team were 5-0 to St Albans, then ok fair comment. But when your team has not conceded a goal at home in the league and have taken 22 points from 24, then it beggars belief that people actually moan about another clean sheet. It may have not been three points and a good performance on Saturday, but it was a point towards League One. So who cares? I don`t. Let`s just be positive and if you`re not, then go and support the Wolves!
