A goalkeeper next on the list

Whilst a goalkeeper may not be the next signing it is certainly the biggest part of the jigsaw thats missing.

Various rumours have been doing the rounds in the last couple of weeks. A number of Keepers have been approached according to the rumour mill.

Various names have been mentioned, Gavin Ward, and Ademole Bankole been just two. However it seems that Richard Money seems to have the ability to pull a name out of the hat….so much for the weakness in his current contacts and our scouting system.

We need a strong vocal keeper who will command a defence which may in the whole be lacking in experience. One keeper who Walsall have been keeping an eye on is thought to be Rhys Evans from relegated Swindon Town who of course like ourselves will be vying to climb out of the basement at the first attempt.

Rhys who seemed to be quite happy to stay at The county ground has been increasingly frustrated at Swindon only offering a one year contract. He was quite willing to wait for an improved offer since a number of his colleagues have been offered multi year deals. However despite the new manager comming in nothing has materialised. However another factor is that Rhys has a number of clubs courting his signiture, and Blackpool are rumoured to have put a fairly attractive deal on the table to secure his services.

So it seems we may miss out on this target but there are enough good keepers looking for clubs to ensure that Plan B or C could be equally effective.
