Over the weekend, Walsall fans have done what Walsall fans do best, and raised valuable funds for the club. Two different supporters groups have put schemes in place to allow fans to contribute, and the fans have risen to it.

First up, the ISSA embarked on a mission to raise £5000 to help with the decorating of the Bescot Bar, which fans have eagerly been waiting to re-visit. The ISSA wanted the money to buy vinyl prints to put up in the bar. These vinyls will be of ex-players or managers, who are seen as legends by the fans. These will include, Jimmy Walker, Ray Graydon, and Alan Buckley. Fans will also have the chance to vote on others players who will feature on the vinyls.

This fundraiser exceeded expectations, in which they managed to raise £5,100. This will go a huge way to helping the club with the decoration of the newly refurbished bar. The ISSA have already announced plans for their next project, which will be to raise money to purchase a new minibus for the club. So keep an eye on their page for ways to help out.

The other group to have helped the club is the Supporters Trust. The Trust have completed their second 50/50 draw. This months draw raised £300 for the club, and £300 to the lucky winner. The 50/50 draw has been a way for fans who would normally have purchased these tickets at the ground, to purchase them online, and still contribute to the club too. The draw for July is already live, and you can purchase tickets by visiting their website.

The scheme has been popular amongst fans, and has raised valuable funds for the club. Entering its third month has shown that this idea has a longevity to it, and hopefully we will see it continue until we can get back to the ground, and buy the tickets for ourselves.

Well done to both groups, who have both managed to help the club in these tough times. Keep a look out on both of their various websites and social media pages too. A huge well done to the fans who have been backing the schemes, it goes to show that when the going gets tough, Walsall fans will be there to show their worth!
