Whilst reading about Simon Cliffords Brazilian Soccer schools and his team Garforth Town who have just achieved back to back promotions and remain 4 promotions away from the football league, I found out about Duncan Williams a 19 year old footballing prospect, this is his story.

At 19 Duncan is well thought of in the footballing world, turning down moves to Middlesborough, Everton and Bolton Wanderers and the prospect of joining the likes of Terry and Gerrard in the premier league.

Does Duncan lack ambition to match his talent, the answer is definately no he has a desire to plan at the top level butbut he wants to do it for the love of football rather than money.

The right sided midfield player is quoted as saying’ a lot of people have said I’m mad, but to me football has got nothing to do with pound signs. I love the game not what I can get out of it.’ Duncan has proved as good as his word, and has donated his income from Garforth to the Lesson Foundation , a charity which works to help disadvantaged youngsters in inner city Leeds.

His manager also believes in a similar mind set, Simon Clifford has also launched a new football magazine called coin, an anagram of ICON, the plush Jamie Redknapp version aim at footballlers who need another Bentley or designer suit, COIN is distributed within the big issue.

Son whilst Brazilian Soccer schools have already brought us the likes of Micah Richards there is a wealth of talent waiting below…..not all wanting a big fat pay cheque. I for one salute him.
