Walsall goalkeeper Clayton Ince today hailed his record-equalling defence – but insisted their exploits will mean nothing without promotion. However in the football league golden boot and golden glove awards. Clayton closed the gap to just two shut out’s as both the keepers from Bristol Rovers and Hartlepool (who have 21 clean sheets) both let in goals at the weekend.

Whilst the Saddlers equalled the club record of 19 clean sheets in a league season with their goalless draw at promotion rivals Wycombe on Saturday. Clayton will be hoping for more.

Clayton Ince, who will match the Saddlers` individual record for a keeper with one more shut-out,has paid tribute to the young defenders who recorded a third straight clean sheet at Adams Park in todays Express and Star.

With a clean sheet required for a record against MK Dons, am I a lone in thinking this is a kiss of death for that match.
