Newly promoted Barnsley are thought to be tracking Walsall’s out of contract midfielder Sam Mantom as they look the bolster their side following their promotion to the Championship.

Barnsley who defeated Walsall 6-1 on aggregate are said to be in talks with Mantom and his agent due to the former Albion midfielders contract expired with the Saddlers.

Walsall have offered Mantom a two year deal to stay with the club however he has until 20th June or the offer will expire.

Mantom has scored sixteen goals in one hundred and thirty appearances the Saddlers since he joined initially on loan in 2012.
