BESCOT BEAT: Errors and even more errors

When will we learn from our mistakes? The fact that our overall performance warrants a point leaves me baffled when we exit places, like Colchester, having lost 2-1.

I am not trying to say that we should have won the game, but a point would have been fairer than a defeat. Darren Byfield showed once again that he should earn another contract, at least to the end of the season.

Next up lies a trip to Wycombe, which will provide another stern test even though the Buckinghamshire outfit lie bottom of League 1.

First things first, we should be able to win, and we need to win. More consistency is needed within the ranks at Walsall as two away defeats on the trot and a 3-0 home win show that the ship needs to be anchored.

A win at Wycombe would put us back in the Playoff race, whereas another defeat would take us closer to the League 1 trap door.

In terms of the FA Cup, I could see us being drawn away to Stourbridge and I’m glad, as there’s nothing better than a local derby in the cup!

We need to be aware of how to put in a professional performance and avoid another Slough scenario.

Bring it on!
