Boss Annoyed As Players Didn’t Turn Up

|

Walsall boss Dean Keates has today shown his disappointment at yesterday’s performance against Luton Town claiming that the players didn’t turn up.

The Saddlers suffered our first away defeat of the season but in turn was our third defeat in six, one which leaves the Saddlers now three points behind the top six.

Rea and Grant scored for Luton but it could have been so much more if it wasn’t for superb goalkeeping by Liam Roberts.

However Keates is hoping for a reaction on Tuesday night.

Speaking to the Express And Star Keates said

“We are massively disappointed with the performance,”

“We didn’t turn up. It’s as simple as that.”

Keates continued that the performance was nowhere near the standards they have set and despite the morale of the players being low they will be looking for a reaction on Tuesday night.

“That is nowhere near the standards we have set for ourselves.”

“The players are low. But when we have lost this season we have had a reaction and that is something we will be speaking about.”

The Saddlers travel to Southend United on Tuesday night before returning to the Banks’s Stadium for Saturdays home game with Wycombe Wanderers.
