Boss Refuses To Speak About The Worst Referee In Football League

|

Walsall boss Dean Keates refused to speak about referee Anthony Coggins after today’s 4-1 defeat to Doncaster Rovers.

Coggins lost control of a very fiery game in which he booked seven players, the Walsall manager and also gave a very dubious penalty.

Coggins is officially now the worst referee in the Football League and the EFL seriously need to start questioning the ability of their officials in the lower league.

However when Keates was asked after the game he refused to comment on the officials performance.

“What’s the point of me talking about the referee? There’s no point. People who were here saw his performance.“

Keates also pointed out the Saddlers poor first half performance and wasn’t happy when talking about Luke Leahy and Morgan Ferriers confrontation following Doncaster’s third goal.

Leahy and Ferrier were both blaming each other for the goal which led to a little scuffle between the two players which Keates said shouldn’t be seen on a football pitch but did concede it was all down to emotions and that it was “done and dusted”.

“It’s emotions – I’ve had a chat with them in the changing room about it and it’s done and dusted,” the boss continued.

“It’s put to bed, that issue. Ideally, that doesn’t happen on a football pitch.“

The Saddlers have now gone three games without a league win but still find ourselves sixth in League 1.
