The Saddlers take on Stuart McCall’s Bantams on Saturday, where Jon Whitney will be looking to build on some positive recent form.

As always, Bradford will provide a stern test and we’re taking a look at the three players who could make the difference for the visitors…

1) Charlie Wyke

The frontman joined from Carlisle United in January after a stellar start to the 16/17 season and continued his goal scoring form as the Bantams progressed to the play-off final, only to lose agonisingly to Millwall. Wyke has missed the majority of the start of the season, and made his return to action with a substitute appearance in last week’s defeat to Blackburn Rovers. And with the Bantams struggling to find a cutting edge in that game, Wyke could be unleashed from the start against the Saddlers.

2) Shay McCartan

The summer recruit from Accrington Stanley is still finding his feet at Valley Parade, but has undoubted talent and was included in Northern Ireland’s squad for their upcoming World Cup Qualifiers. McCartan was a key men in Accrington’s recent success and has followed in the footsteps of Josh Windass and Matt Crooks in earning a move to a bigger club. Saddlers skipper Adam Chambers will have his work cut out keeping McCartan quiet, and Bantams fans will be hoping he can fire them to victory at the Banks’s.

3) Dominic Poleon

A few eyebrows were raised when Bradford made the move to bring Poleon to Valley Parade from AFC Wimbledon, but with a couple of goals already this season it seems that Poleon may have found the ‘right’ club to help him showcase his talent. The forward made the move north with fellow Wimbledon team-mate Jake Reeves, and has settled quickly into the team. The pacy forward will be hoping to find a way through a Saddlers defence that has generally looked fairly solid so far this season, a potential partnership with the returning Wyke could prove fruitful for City on Saturday.
