Much loved Captain Andy Butler has spoken out to Saddlers.co.uk after Walsall cemented their place in League One for next season.

The skipper was upbeat saying survival is just job one done, and next season we should be aiming to push higher seeing as we have been unable to get the rub of the green at times.

‘Hopefully next season we can push on and bounce back higher. The staff here have been brilliant and Dean Smith is one of the best managers that I have worked under. His man-management is superb and the lads want to do well for him’ he told the Official site.

Butler and the boys secured their status with a well earned draw at home to Huddersfield, as Chesterfield and Wycombe lost their respective games, leaving us four points clear.

Captain marvel went on to add that confidence is high and he believes the squad has the quality to challenge at the right end of the table next season.

He went on to tell Saddlers.co.uk ‘For now, though, we are pleased to have secured our League One place and we will be looking to finish on a positive note next week at MK Dons.”
