Chadwick to earn Sadlers deal

The rumours are rife that trialist Nick Chadwick is to be offered a one year deal at the Bank’s stadium after doing enough to impress manager Jimmy Mullen. If this proves to be correct it could mean the exit door for Patrick Suffo. This is a pity but having four experienced strikers could damage the prospects of our younger strikers unless loans could be arranged for the likes of Deeney and Nichols.

The signing of the ex Everton player who cost Plymouth a fee in excess of 250k would represent a gamble in light of his injury history. This would probably explain the one year deal.

We are still interested in the ex German international Marco Reich who is known over here due to his time with Derby and Crystal Palace. He missed our pre season game at Burton due to a previous comitment but manager JM expects him back soon.

Whilst some trialists have been released our interest in ex Chelsea player Anthony Grant seems destined to end in failure as he seems set to move to Southend partly driven by the fact that this move would mean he doesn’t have to uproot his family, this been especially important was his daughter is quit ill. Can’t blame anyone for thinking family first in those circumstances.

This has however led to us offering a deal to a midfielder who also has two offers on the table from championship level clubs. It has been made public that if the midfielder signs he is the type of no pitch leader that JM would expect him to take the captains armband. No official news on who is in the frame although two players with past local links have been talked about on various message boards…a certain Graham Kavanagh and Kenny Lunt only time will tell.
