Clarke Looking At Free Transfers As Injuries Take Toll On Squad

|

Walsall boss Darrell Clarke has today admitted he isn’t ruling out dipping into the free transfer market as the injury count mounts up.

The Saddlers boss doesn’t disclose the length of injury but admits Facey, Pring, Adebayo and Lavery have joined long term absentee Kory Roberts in the treatment room.

Late last week Adebayo and Pring said they will be returning back to action soon but Clarke needs reinforcements to his already small squad.

Caolan Lavery limped off during Saturday’s win over Crawley with an hamstring injury.

Speaking to Express and Star, Clarke said

“We have five or six injuries in a squad, we need to get a few bodies back soon”

“We need upgrades as well as we go along.”

“I’m certainly not ruling myself out of the market, the free transfer market, because we need that bit more quality and pushing other players as well.”

Clarke is still adamant that he has talented youth to choose from and will continue to work with what he has and try to improve them.
