Confidence is high..but why?

The confidence in the 80% of fans which feel we can stay up is in stark contrast to those of other clubs which have run similar polls, at the time of writting,
MK Dons 55% feel they will go down
Swindon 66% felt they would also go down
Gillingham is split 50/50 will they stay up or not.
Rotherham, are having other problems and only 45% feel they will be in business let alone stay up.
Hartlepool and Bournemouth have not asked the question recently.
Yeovil have something strange in the cider and are still asking about the play offs, they must be coming round though at least they don’t think they will make them!!!!!!

So is this confidence misplaced, only time will tell. It certain that the change in manager has certainly lifted the spirits. This honeymoon period has yet to bring a win, but has brought organisation, desire and set plays which work, all things which are a bit of a culture shock at Bescot following on from the last couple of seasons. The defence and midfield look as good as they have all season. It is the attack and the lack of a goalscorer which could be our undoing.

Also the fact that after Tranmere on Friday seven of our last ten games are at Bescot, where we have enjoyed much better form. This must continue if we are to stay up, and most fans feel that it will. The fact we have some winnerable crunch games away at Gillingham and Blackpool and at home to Yeovil, Bournemouth,Port Vale, Bristol City and Bradford gives hope, any points from Tranmere and Doncaster away will be a bonus, whilst Huddersfield and Barnsley at home will push us hard. Historically it looks like that a higher than normal points total maybe required to stay up this year 50-54 points, so we need four to five wins which sounds achievable until you remember we have not won this year!!!!

Get ready for the final roller coaster ride.
