Walsall Appeal Against Andy Cook’s Red Card Is Rejected

|

Walsall have today failed to overturn Andy Cook’s red card and he will therefore be suspended for the next three games.

During our 3-2 home win over Bradford on Saturday, Cook was sent off after just six minutes for what appeared to be the use of the elbow on Percival-Knight.

However Walsall watched the incident, didnt feel it was worthy of a red card and appealed the decision – which was rejected.

Dean Keates spoke yesterday of how referees have apologised to the Saddlers recently following decisions going against us. This is yet another decision which has gone against the Saddlers – the kind of fortunes you get for being a League 1 club in a relegation battle.

Cook will now miss the next three crucial games – Burton (a), Fleetwood (h) and Portsmouth (h)

It is now up to Gordon to continue where he left off on Saturday and spearhead the attack at Burton.
