County Come to Bescot

No league home win since New years eve, a whole seven months eight days, can this be the day things change. A solid team performance on saturday has given rise to a wave of confidence that we can sweep away all that is put in front of us. However I am not so sure the same short comings that concerned many saddlers before saturday were there to be seen, just because we beat a poor Rochdale team means nothing yet.

Stockport County on the other hand will be out to rectify what they see as an injustice. They by all accounts pushed Hereford back and controlled large amounts of the game only to undone by some fine goal keeping and there own poor defending.
So you could say the pressure is really on.

Vital Quotes:

Richard Money said after the Rochdale game that we deserved the points, Rochdale manager Steve Parkin said Rochdale didn’t. So Dickie Dosh will be hoping that his team can build on saturdays win. However I am sure he will have concerns about certain aspects of the team and the rebuilding process is on going.

Walsall Team News:

Does Dickie change a winning team, that is the question. Will are missing Darren Wrack and Alex Nichols and Tony Bedeau, however Chris Westwood has returned from suspension. He could press Craig Pead for the right back slot or even at centre half but in truth the defence performed well enough to give them another chance. In midfield Kinsella came off and if the knock isn’t too bad then he will continue with Dobson in the centre otherwise Keates may come in. Upfront Sam and Butler will get another chance to gel. It is out wide that most fans will question, the Fox, Taylor combination on the left seems a bit negative whilst Mark Wright is still inconsisitant on the right, we have options but will Dickie change the team I DON’T THINK SO. Same as saturday for me.

Player to watch: Alan PIcken

First chance for many Saddlers to view the Australian defender who flew into Britain last Tuesday. His performance against Rochdale was huge especially considering he has no time to adjust to the english game or team mates. He was strong in the air and in the tackle as well as bringing the ball out when possible. He also knew when to put in row z. Alan could be Dickies best signing.

Stockport County Team News:

Stockport are hoping that striker Tes Bramble will returrn as they look to put right the wrong of saturday. However a defeat could put them bottom albeit early doors. The team otherwise could be the same as saturday, although like the saddlers the home fans are grumbling about the wing play. If Jim Gannon agrees there could be some changes however due to the good performance I don’t expect any changes.

Player to watch: Adam Le Fondre

The striker had the ball in the net on saturday only for the header to be ruled offside. He will be the main goal threat upfront on Tuesday especially if Tes Bramble is ruled out.
