Scott Dann’s big money move to Birmingham City last week could see a significant windfall fall the way of WS1.

The transfer, believed to be in the region of £4million, means that we could see a minimum of £250,000 as part of the deal that took Dann to Coventry in January 2008.

Roy Whalley seems to think that the deal will give CH a bigger budget for transfers.

He told the Express and Star: “We`ve always made a point of helping the manager as much as we can, that`s always been the case and the money would help us to help him a little more.

“There is always a budget, but how he spends it is up to him and what he spends on one thing he can`t on another.”

The payment, whatever the sum, will arrive through the Football League as soon as the details of the transfer are known.

In other news, Walsall have been drawn away to Accrington Stanley in the first round of the Carling Cup.

The tie will be played during the week commencing August 10th.
