Walsall boss DD has defended his team despite one point from the first three games, leaving the Saddlers fourth from bottom.
Swansea were the latest side to inflict defeat upon last year’s League Two Champions, as they ran out 3-1 winners.
DD told the Express and Star: ‘I think the job of a manager is to keep belief in their players.’
Martin Butler did return to the starting lineup in place of the injured Tommy Mooney and scored the opening goal.
However, after poor defending let Swansea back into the match before taking a 2-1 lead into half-time, Saddlers defender Ian Roper gave away a penalty and was sent off, leaving DD’s men with another disappointing outcome.
Walsall fans will feel the need to strengthen, but DD has said there will be no more permanent transfers coming into the Banks’s Stadium.
