The 40 year old has cut a keen figure at the Banks’s through his 23 game reign and has accumulated 28 points in that time.
He added: ‘It would have been nice to win (over easter) but we`re probably in the best position we`ve been in in the league since September..it`s a great stride from where we were in January.’
After tomorrow’s clash with Charlton, the Saddlers could be in a variety of positions given their and those under them results. So it’s a case of watching this space and praying.
Smith concluded: ‘But we can`t lose focus on our job and that`s to get three points against Charlton.”
