Defender Will Not Be Joining Walsall According To His Manager

|

Wrexham manager Sam Ricketts has confirmed that the Welsh club will not be selling Manny Smith before Thursday’s transfer deadline despite him only having one year left on his current contract.

Reputable journalist Pete O’Rourke said both Walsall and Cheltenham were interested in the central defender but speaking after Wrexham’s 0-0 draw with AFC Fylde last night Ricketts said hes not going anywhere.

“Manny won’t be going anywhere,”

“I know nothing about it. Manny is a huge part of this club, this is his second spell here and he is a big part of this team now.”

“From our point of view, I won’t be selling Manny Smith.”

Smith is no stranger at WS1 having started his career here. Smith went onto make one hundred and twenty-four appearances for the Saddlers scoring seven goals.

Following his departure from the Saddlers he went onto play for Notts County and Gateshead.

Walsall boss Dean Keates is still looking to strengthen his defence and midfield ahead of tomorrows transfer deadline.
