Despite Trivela Group LLC takeover this summer Walsall head coach Michael Flynn insists its not amongst the top clubs in League 2 and says clubs are blowing us out the water.

Speaking to the Express and Star, Flynn said

“We’re saying it’s a competitive budget, but I’ll tell you, it’s still not in the top seven,”

“It won’t be in the top seven, maybe top-10 budgets. It won’t be a top-10 budget, I know that”

“Yes, it’s a competitive budget for Walsall and the league, because money doesn’t guarantee you success. It gives us a chance of getting one or two”

Last season Walsall chairman Leigh Pomlett was adamant our budget was amongst the top ten in League 2 so after a takeover how can we fall down the pecking order in England’s bottom football league division?

On Monday Walsall fans have the chance to quiz c0-owners Ben Boycott and Leigh Pomlett ahead of the new season and I am sure Flynn’s comments this morning will get many Walsall fans asking questions about the takeover and the budget.
