All in all, this season has been a non-event, with Jimmy ‘the Muddle’ Mullen’s sacking probably being the highlight as far as the footballing side is concerned. As for everthing else…at least the Sunday Market is doing well!

The only positive that we can take from this season is that it’s finished and we can look to get rid of the deadwood in the squad, while looking forward to a new season. Afterall, I suppose our aim at the start of this season was to get into the Playoff mix and dream of playing at grounds like The Valley and Carrow Road next season. This aim has partially been achieved without much effort, as those grounds come 5pm Sunday night will become League One venues for the 2009/10 season.

As for the player of the season….is there one? Jabo Ibehre has shown he can put the ball in the net, likewise with Troy Deeney and even Alex Nicholls. However, who else can we say has stepped up their game? My man would be Clayton Ince. He is quality goalkeeper who has obviously put on Wacka’s gloves from yester-year and will be difficult to keep hold of in the next few weeks.

The next objective after yesterday will be to erase the last nine months from the memories and let’s see what Hutch can do in the summer!

Enjoy the rest of the Bank Holiday Saddlers fans and let’s look to the future.
