Walsall goalkeeper Neil Etheridge has today admitted that home form needs to improve if we are to have a chance of going up automatically.
The Saddlers have won just seven out of eighteen at home this season – a record which puts them in eighteenth overall. The Saddlers are miles ahead of everyone else with their away record, having gained thirty nine points from a possible fifty four.
Etheridge said the players want to give the fans the football they deserve to watch.
Speaking to Express and Star, Etheridge said ‘We want to give the fans the football they deserve to watch.
“There are just 10 games left, we know we are going to have a tough run-in but we have won two games on the bounce and hopefully we can make it three on Saturday.’
“The fans have been behind us all the way – we have had two great wins but we need to deliver at home now. Our home form hasn`t been as good as our away form – we know that.’
“But if we can keep playing the football we have played in the last two games then then we can get the victory.”
