“Every day, whether it’s out to train or playing games, I want to repay him because he has shown so much faith in me.”

Walsall striker Morgan Ferrier has today vowed to repay Dean Keates for giving him his chance to shine in professional football.

Ferrier joined the Saddlers from Boreham Wood this summer for a fee believed to be £35,000 (money well spent eh?) and despite starting his youth career at Arsenal he believes its now he is beginning to shine and showing the Football League what he is capable of.

Speaking to Express and Star, Ferrier said –

“I made a few mistakes when I was younger so that’s why I’m so grateful to the gaffer for giving me this opportunity,”

“Every day, whether it’s out to train or playing games, I want to repay him because he has shown so much faith in me.”

Ferrier who has scored four goals already this term is still eager to improve and feels his stint in non-league has helped him mature and develop as a player

“One of the best things I did was going non-league because a lot of players get wrapped up in a bubble of playing under-23s football.”

He understands that he is a fiery character but believes people take it the wrong way sometimes, however he continues to prove the doubters wrong.

We are lucky to have got a player of his calibre for such a small price and it wont be long before teams higher up the league start to monitor his performances.
