Ex Saddler Alex Nicholls has broken his leg following a challenge by Port Vale defender John McCombe today.

Nicholls was setting League 2 alight with 8 goals already this season for Northampton.

This is a major setback for the lad that was beginning to get his career going.

Northampton Town have released news tonight that Alex has undergone an operation following him breaking his fibia and tibia.
