The World Cup is officially over and attentions now turn to the Football League season with it set to kick off in nineteen days time and fans have now started to worry about the squad we currently find ourselves with.

The Saddlers have made just four signings this summer Chris Dunn (Wrexham), Josh Ginnelly (Tranmere), Zeli Ismail (Bury) and Andy Cook (Tranmere).

Around seventy percent of the squad which just avoided relegation last season is still at the club and people have taken to social media to express their concerns.

Here are a few tweets from Saddlers fans –

The Saddlers can sign players for a transfer fee (good joke) up until the 9th August but are able to sign unattached players/loan signings up until the 31st August should we need to.

There is still time for Dean Keates to bolster his squad but does leave very little time for them to ‘bed in’ with the rest of the squad.

Are you concerned by the lack of transfer activity? Head over to our Facebook and Twitter pages and get involved.

  • Hate to think it, cos we’re all right behind keates and would love him to do the biz, but right now i think this must be the weakest team I’ve ever seen at this stage of pre season and the results are telling. Not happy that the only changes to a failing league one team are non league wannabes – might have all the will in the world to succeed but end of the day talent tells. Need desperately to show a bit more ambition and bring someone in with experience.
