Ferrier Omitted From Squad Sparking Rumours Of His Exit

|

Walsall striker Morgan Ferrier was left out of yesterday’s matchday squad sparking rumours that he is the latest player from last seasons squad to leave the club.

Ferrier was surprisingly given the number nine shirt by boss Darrell Clarke however Clarke’s decision to trial McAlinden and Nicholls has started rumours – with many suggesting he’s leaving fairly soon.

Ferrier turned down a £100,000 move to Southend United during the January transfer window stating he wanted to prove his worth at Walsall, however following the departure of Dean Keates it remains to be seen if he wishes to stay.

Should Ferrier leave the club then it leaves Clarke with just Josh Gordon as a proven striker in league 2. McAlinden and Nicholls certainly aren’t the answer to our prayers, however, if the budget is as bad as it seems maybe Clarke will need to delve into the loan market to find that quality that’s badly needed.
