Former Bolton Youngster On Trial?

|

Could the identity of our mystery trialist have been revealed this evening?

A.Trialist scored for the Saddlers during our 2-1 defeat to Rushall this evening and many have suggested names of who it could have been.

We are lead to believe that his surname is Michael and he is from Cyprus.

He previously played as a youngster at a Premier League side – confirmed by Dean Keates this evening in his post match comments –

“He has come in and been with us for a week. He had an opportunity to play in the country when he was a lot younger and that was at a Premier League team.“

“And the agent that had him over here at an academy in the Premier League has now recommended him to us.”

“I wouldn’t say he is a shot in the dark because he has played at a good level in his homeland.”

Our keen fans on Twitter have suggested that the player is Marcos Michael who was previously with Bolton as a youngster (Bolton were in the Premier League when he was there).

According to Wikipedia, Michael has been prolific since returning to Cyprus, scoring fifty-eight goals in seventh-three appearances for Limassol, Salamina and Anorthosis Famagusta (the same club we signed Andreas Makris from).

Michael has represented Cyprus at Under 19 and Under 23 level.

We don’t know if it is him but we like a good rumour!
