Former Walsall left back Zigor Aranalde has today been confirmed as assistant coach at Premier League side Watford to new Hornets boss Javi Gracia.

The 44-year-old spent five years at the Bescot, scoring five goals in one hundred and ninety five appearances.

His spell at the Saddlers coincided with one of our greatest periods, clinching promotion to the Championship and establishing ourselves in the second tier.

Aranalde was surprisingly released in 2005 by then manager Paul Merson and went onto Join Sheffield Wednesday and then Carlisle.

Zigor also filled senior scouting positions with Brighton and West Brom, and was previously on the coaching staff at Spanish outfit Albacete.

It is so good to see Zigor back in English football and we wish him the best of luck for his time at Watford.
