Former utility man Craig Pead has announced his retirement from football at just the age of 27.

The former Sky Blue made 80 appearances in a Saddlers shirt in a two-year-spell, before being released and sealing a move to Brentford, where persistent knee injuries have meant he only managed 38 games.

After the Bees won the League Two title, a second title in the last three years for Pead, he was released again only to announce his retirement from the professional game.

Vital Walsall would like to wish ‘Peady’ all the best for the future.
