Former Saddler To Become Barcelona Manager?

According to reports in  The Guardian Spanish giants Barcelona have identified former Saddlers player Roberto Martinez to take over the club.

Martinez played for the Saddlers in 2002, signing from Scottish side Motherwell.

His chances here were limited and he managed to play just six games. In his first start for the Saddlers he was sent off against Reading.

After his release from the Saddlers during the summer he went to Swansea where he was made captain and helped the side avoid relegation to the Conference before moving to Chester.

He became manager of Swansea in 2007. He went on to win the League 1 title with the Swans before taking Wigan to the FA Cup Final.

He went on to become Everton boss before becoming the head coach of national side Belgium.

It hasnt been a bad week for former Saddlers players with Dean Smith winning promotion to the Premier League with Aston Villa yesterday.
