Friend or Foe? November Review

Walsall slid into the relegation zone in a mostly nondescript month for them.

They fell into the relegation zone two weeks ago in a shambolic 4-2 home defeat to Bury and have fans scratching their heads wandering who the hell they CAN beat in the league to beat the drop.

The month started out OK, with a draw away to the (then) unbeaten Huddersfield which saw youngster Paterson to scrape a point. Bury came the next week and gave us a lesson in football with a comprehensive 4-2 thrashing. Not good enough on all accounts.

An away draw to Exeter in the FA Cup first round went to a replay, which Saddler fans could probably done without. Thankfully they went through on extra time, as a 98th minute winner from another youngster, George Bowerman lifted Saddler spirits.

The month finished with a bland 0-0 draw to newly promoted Stevenage. Not much really to be said about that game as it was…quite dull really.

Anyway, onto December! At that elusive Christmas Day position!
