Claude Gnapka has shocked Walsall today and walked away from the club and heads north to Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The 28 year old has become increasingly frustrated by his lack of starts this season and Dean Smith has allowed him to leave the Banks’s to join Caley, as Walsall try to avoid relegation for the second season.

‘He was frustrated at not getting as many starts as he would have liked here…sometimes things don’t work out in football and it is best to move on elsewhere.’ Dean Smith told the official site.

It must be frustrating for a player to sit on the sidelines when they know they have a job to do on the pitch.

“To attack, defence, get assist or score goals I need to be on the pitch. Not running after the game is finished. Don`t get it.” He tweeted last month.

Although, being fair, someone has to be on the bench. He obviously felt he was above that.

It now lightens the boat for a new player to join and Smith swooped for 19-year-old Stoke midfielder Florent Cuvelier who the gaffer describes as ‘creative midfielder who gets on the ball and is technically very good.’

Well, Happy Friday! We now march on to tomorrow’s home clash with Notts County.
