Things seem to be getting better for the Saddlers with some promising news on the injury front.

Chris Westwood seems to be sure to recover from the shoulder injury which he picked up in the closing moments of last Saturdays win against Wrexham.

We had reported that Ian Roper who has been missing since been carried off against Stockport County, had returned to light training last week. However the Express and Dingle is reporting that he has progressed well and could be incontention for saturdays game at Swindon. Although that would represent a hell of a risk, a spot on the bench seems much more likely. That is if the story is correct of course.

As for Alan Picken the story seems more of a mystery. He was close to a return following a season long lay off with a knee injury. Then to be set back with a case of tendonitis. He has then played a couple of reserve games without any reaction. He now seems to have fallen off the radar again. He has missed the last couple of reserve games, many thought this was so he would be protected from injury in case he was required in the run in. However he has not been seen anywhere close to a first team shirt. Whilst DD said he would not rush his come back things have all gone very secret squirel.
