Former Walsall striker Will Grigg looks set to join Bristol City over the coming days which will take Brentford’s payment to Walsall to nearly £500,000.

We received an initial £325,000 transfer fee from Brentford following the tribunal and then received a further £30,000 for him making over 20 appearances, £50,000 for them achieving promotion and 20% of any transfer fee received.

Since Grigg departed Walsall he has found his career stop, start at Brentford and since their promotion to The Championship it seems the bees don’t feel that Grigg is upto that mark just yet and want to get as much back for him as they can.

We have already used some of the Grigg and Paterson money to sign MacGillivray and Bradshaw over the past few days and the additional income from Grigg will help manager Dean Smith offer larger contracts to Andy Taylor and summer target Milan Lalkovic.
