Half term report Bristol Rovers

Bristol Rovers

I must admit a bit of a soft spot for the Gas or Pirates, last season they finished mid table and I predicted a similar season if not slightly better. But it is mid table where they sit with 32 points at the half way mark.
A major concern was what would happen if they lost Junior Agogo and would strike partner Richard Walker be able to shoulder the responsibility for scoring the goals. Well that is what happened, with Rovers bringing in Ricky Lambert from Rochdale for a reported 200k, this signing has not set the streets of Bristol on fire. Rovers do have a good management team in Paul Trollope and Lennie Lawerence who get the best out of the players at there disposal. They also snatched Stuart Nicholson from the Albion who is capable of scoring for fun, but what will happen when his loan ends is there another star capture around the corner.
Bristol Rovers fans also have there off the field concerns, disagreement over the proposed redevelopment of the Memorial ground as well as the old question of what happened to the money means it is unsettled times in Bristol. With City striving for promotion Rovers once again are forced to play the part of poor relation. I can`t see much changing in the second half of the season.
