Half term report Shrewsbury

My pre season prediction for close rivals was….Prediction Everything should be in place to improve on last seasons finish and a play off challenge is quiet possible but something just nags me as not been quiet right so I will say top ten but no play offs.

I have the same nagging doubts and I am not sure a top ten finish is on the cards with a mid table finish more likely. It is strange really since I can`t put my finger on what is wrong. They have some good players in Derek Asamoah and Ben Davies also some experienced performers in the likes of Andy Cooke etc. Okay they have been hit by injuries such as keeper Ryan Esson but a replacement in Scott Shearer isn`t bad. So what is wrong is it time for a rethink on the managerial front?

The board have been quiet forthcoming on the money front especially in the terms of wages. If they feel success can still be gained this year then more money will need to be found. 29 points at half way means the second half of the season needs to be better by quiet a margin. I would suggest a return of an average of two points a game.
