‘Harry Potter, he’s coming for you’ – ECFCTV

|

This week I spoke once again with ECFCTV to chat about today’s game.

How has your season been since we last spoke in December?

Since we last spoke the seasons had its ups down as you would expect but we’ve had a good overall season with the likes of Randell Williams impressing and a selection of youngsters but a run of injuries and mistakes has cost us of late as well as a disintegrating pitch which has led us to change our style of play of late but I’m hoping we can get back to winning ways tomorrow and be back in the hunt

Best player?

Without a doubt has been Randell Williams who’s just got better and better as the season has progressed I just hope we can keep hold of him in the summer as he’s been in superb form with 13 assists this season but he’s added goals to his game and is looking a huge threat essentially with his pace and willingness to take players on and work hard so he’ll be one to look out for tomorrow

Who is your Pantomime Villain?

Definitely Kevin Ellison as hes always a right laugh and always target for stick especially with the classic “Harry Potter he’s coming for you” but also Luke McCormick due to his past both on and off the field

Favourite ever Exeter player?

My favourite ever Exeter player during my 8 years watching Exeter has to be Ryan Harley his vision with the ball was exceptional especially during his first spell with the club as well as having an eye for goal who could forget the goal to keep us in league 1 all of this made him a firm fans favourite

You stand a real chance of going up in the top 3 this season. Do you feel that you can? Or will it be play-offs?

As I’ve mentioned earlier we’ve been really poor of late with various things going wrong but our biggest weakness is and has been often the case this season is our finishing we’ve had numerous chances to kill games off with examples coming from the game vs Macclesfield and the Hartlepool game in the fa cup but we’ve been inconsistent across the season and we seem to have no plan b when we are behind and I’m worried about the repercussions so i think it will be playoffs unfortunately but I remain hopeful.

We played out an exciting 3-3 in December, what did you make of the Saddlers in that game?

Walsall have showed glimpses of what their capable of this season and we’re good when we played them but just seemed to run out of legs as we get back in back into into but the threat was definitely there.

Predictions for the weekend?

1-0 City I can see it being a proper league 2 game with not much separating the two sides

Finally, who do you think is getting promoted this season?

My top 3 would be Swindon, Argyle, Crewe. Argyle because they have a passionate young manger who knows knows how to get the best out of his players and has a connection with the fans and it makes it a recipe for success however Crewe are punching above their weight but have always been a good side playing good football and are run the right way. Swindon have been right there since the start of the season thanks to a great strike partnership between Jerry yeates and Doyle and have had some luck along as have all the sides in the top 3 which is what you need to be successful at this level

Thanks for that, and we wish you the best of luck with the promotion campaign.
