Wayne Hatswell has today left Newport County by mutual consent paving way for his reunion with Walsall head coach Michael Flynn.

On the official Newport website their statement reads

The club can confirm it has parted company with Wayne Hatswell.

Wayne expressed a strong desire to leave the club to pursue a new opportunity and as a result the club has reached agreement to release him.

The club would like to place on record its thanks to Wayne for all his efforts and hard work over the years.

We wish him all the best for the future.
Hatswell has been a key figure at Newport. He initially joined the club in 2013 after winning promotion with Stamford. Hatswell remained at the club until 2015 but was released when the Exiles appointed Terry Butcher as manager.
During that summer he was appointed as Gillingham youth team manager however he left in 2017 to rejoin Newport as assistant to our new head coach Michael Flynn.
When Flynn left Newport in October, Hatswell stepped up as interim boss but stepped aside when Newport gave the full time job to James Rowberry.
Wayne along with Flynn, was instrumental in the Exiles turnaround. Here’s hoping they can both replicate that turnaround here.
