This week, we have the views and opinions on more fans, all based around their highlights on the season, and thoughts going forward. Our volunteers this week are @snoweysnow @wfcdanoc and @saddlersgirl1

1 – How would you rate the season so far for us?

DC – I’d give this season a generous 7/10. Looking at the player turnover prior to the start of this season and knowing what a competitive place League Two can be, I’d hoped for a top 10 finish but knew promotion might be too ambitious at the first attempt. It’s been a bit of a “two steps forward, one step back” season but the last few performances hopefully means things are clicking together. Home form has been something to forget and unsettled starting line ups have been particularly frustrating, but every now and again turning over a side near the top and decent away wins have given us hope.

SG – The season do far has gone as good has can be expected considering all the new players brought in.

SS – I would say this season has been a out stability with the turnover of players we have had. we have looked really good on our best day against teams like Scunny at home and trash against Morecambe at home but I’d say overall a 7.

2 – Who has been your player of the season?

SS – Personally I would say Flash Gordon as he has been a real driving force every game.

DC – I think a lot of credit has to go to Josh Gordon, when we signed him he was a bit of a rough diamond and for a lad who hadn’t got massive league experience last season was a steep learning curve. This season his work rate and endeavour has shone through in what can sometimes be a thankless task moving from a central forward to a wide player and even displayed his defensive qualities tracking back to cover. A forward player is judged on goals and 9 goals this season doesn’t really tell the full story, we have seen a player steadily growing in confidence at this level and I’m hoping he’ll continue to kick on next season.

SG – Josh Gordon is definitely my player of the season, he’s gave 100% , his work rate can’t be faulted.

3 – What has been your favourite moment of the season?

SG – Away at Salford, what a game, great atmosphere and the players worked hard dug in and secured us the 2-1 win! Brilliant day.

DC – Home form has been very hit and miss so it would have to be away from home. A local(ish) opening day with with a big away following is always a buzz because the start of a new season anything is possible so Clarke’s header against Northampton in August was nice. The best moment for me was Salford City away, big spenders in the league, new ground, big away following all had the ingredients for a decent away day. It wasn’t a stellar performance but an away win in a packed away terrace will always tick my boxes, Gordon bagging the winner down our end as well, sweet.

SS – Favourite moment has to be Northampton away that atmosphere with a special shout out to Chris Jones as well we loved it. A game where where u had to be there to be there to understand.

4 – What positions do you think we need to strengthen?

SS – We need a keeper who we can depend on for me Robert’s makes to many mistakes and he is to quiet with his defence (that’s before I go there with his kicking) for a keeper that has played close to 100 senior games (more than what Etheridge was at when he went to Cardiff) is just not good enough. Being chipped on your own goal line is a pointer.

SG – I think we really need a creative central midfielder.

DC – I’d like to see Liam Roberts have some serious competition from an experienced goalkeeper, he can make some incredible saves that have kept us in games this season, he’s also conceded some soft goals. A proven goal scorer is on every club’s wish-list but I would love to see a frontman who could feed off the likes of Gordon & McDonald. A creative central midfielder to build attacks could really help us change the tempo from defence to attack quickly, we have been overly reliant on Danny Guthrie and with Kinsella & Sinclair offering similar qualities, a more attacking option from midfield would mix it up.

5 – How do you think we will fair next season?

DC – Ever the optimist, I do think some players in this squad have not yet shown us their full potential, if we can develop the likes of Bates, Jules, Holden & Adebayo and add a bit of experience, I don’t see any reason we shouldn’t be in the top 7 next season. We’ll be older and wiser, I’m hoping Darrell has learnt lessons this season, particularly at home, to make the tweaks needed for a proper promotion push. 5th and a play off win, there, I’ve said it.

SS – I think next season we can push for promotion the team have all bedded in and the last 6 games we where in promotion form add a dependable keeper and top 3 is definitely within reach

SG – I think next season we should definitely be in the play offs & I’d like to say get promoted!! We have a great Chairman now & I have faith that Darrell is the man to take us up!

Thanks for answering those questions. There will be another opportunity next week to feature, so keep your eyes peeled.
