Highlights – Walsall 2-3 Portsmouth

|

We lost our seventeenth league game of the season last night as we went down 3-2 at home to Portsmouth.

Portsmouth’s three goals all came from individual mistakes. Starting with Morgan Ferrier ridiculous push on Nathan Thompson in the penalty area.

Portsmouth went 2-0 up following a long ball by former Saddlers keeper Craig MacGillivray which somehow found Omar Bogle after Dan Scarr failed to control/clear the ball.

Portsmouth’s third came after Jon Guthrie lost his footing and ended up with Viv Solomon-Otabor finishing past Liam Roberts.

The Saddlers scored two late goals both from Jon Guthrie from set pieces but it was too little too late following our earlier mishaps.

We are now just two points clear of the drop zone and we now travel to Sunderland on Saturday hoping that we can somehow grab a point as we continue to battle to stay in League 1.
