Macken blasted the Saddlers ahead with a well taken strike in the opening minutes, before Brain had two successive nightmares, gifting the Dale to goals against the run of play. One he let go of after catching and another went underneath him as he scrambled to catch it. Lucky old Rochdale.
Saddler fans were in uproar as they joined the Dale with their ‘dodgy keeper’ chants. But, Byfield performed heroics as half timed ticked down as he grabbed leveller through a fine strike into the left of the goal.
The Saddlers have had a solid first half and Brain will no doubt wake up in a cold sweat at his blunders.
