No need to adjust your eyes, Walsall have taken a stunning 2-0 lead against Exeter here at the Banks’s today. At last!

It was a largely uneventful half until the half hour mark. The Saddlers went one ahead as Macken was gifted the ball in an Grecian clamber. He slotted to Reid who put the ball home. YES!

 New boy Davies was involved in an altercation shortly after with Exeter’s  Troy Archibald Henville following a corner. Both were shown Yellow.

Matthew Richards masterfully headed into the net as the half was coming to a close, following a cross from newboy , to double their lead. Finally Walsall were in command!

Tge drama did not end there as Troy Archibald Henville was sent off as the half came to a close, following a reckless foul on Reid.

Nicholls has dropped to the bench and Lancashire has disappeared out the squad. Injury must have befallen him.
