Three bids have been placed for Troy Deeney it has emerged today, but Hutchings says he won’t go until he is happy with the money offered.

Rumoured bidder Watford have been tracking Deeney all summer, and with only two fit strikers of their own, they will no doubt be eager to secure his services.

Hutchings told the Express and Star that he is not keen on letting the 22 year old go, but if the right money is put on the table they will have no choice.

He said: “We have to look at his progress as a professional and young man who wants to play at a higher level.’

“If you want to sell your car for £1,000 and I offer you £500 you`ll tell me to go away. If I offer £750 you`ll say the same. When I get to £950 it might make you think about it, but at the moment the offers have been rejected at that`s the end of the matter.”

Deeney is arguably key in the plans for the season ahead as he, Nicholls and Byfield are the only three senior strikers in the squad. He scored 14 goals last season and earned supporters player of season.
