If Players Don’t Want To Be Here, They Will Be Gone

|

Walsall boss Darrell Clarke has today insisted that any player that doesn’t want to be at the club will be gone before the season starts.

If their heart isn’t in the club he said he will always look to get the best price for them.

Clarke is still set to announce his retained/released list but says he will not stop any contracted players leaving if they wish to do so.

He states that his door is always open for any players that wish to inform him that they want a move away.

“What I will say is – and I’ve always worked like this – if players don’t want to be here, they will be gone.”

“I will get the best price for them and out they go, simple as that.”

“You want players who committed, I want everyone signing off the same page.”

The Bristol Post are reporting that Walsall missed out on a last minute deal for former Bristol Rovers midfielder Chris Lines. The player had already agreed terms with Northampton Town and we moved to late to sign him.

Clarke is already on the lookout for reinforcements and you would imagine signings won’t be too far away.
