It’s Going To Be A Long Season, But My Fans Know That – Clarke

|

Walsall boss Darrell Clarke has admitted that it is going to be long hard season as his team try to avoid relegation to the National League.

A fifth straight defeat to Mansfield Town yesterday saw the Saddlers drop to 21st in League 2 just five points clear of Morecambe however Clarke says the fans know how difficult this season will be.

Clarke described yesterday as “Groundhog Day” as missed chances from Rory Gaffney especially condemned the Saddlers to defeat.

Speaking to the Express and Star, Clarke said

“I think it’s Groundhog Day for a lot of our games this season,”

“That’s why it’s going to be a long season.”

“Let’s make no bones about it, we are where we are.”

“Where we deserve to be, because of both boxes.”

“I keep saying this, and I’m a frustrated man saying it, but I don’t think there’s a lot in the league.“

“It’s going to be a long old season but I think my fans already know that.“

The Saddlers now travel to play-off chasing Swindon knowing a sixth straight defeat will hear those angry voices grow louder.

As said many times, Walsall Football Club should not be 21st in League 2. Absolutely disgraceful.
