I have seen alot of moans and groans on both Twitter and Facebook following yesterdays draw with Crewe so think its only fair to have a little dose of reality.

We are currently third in League 1, just one point shy of an automatic promotion place and just six shy of the league 1 leaders – we have not been in this position since 2001.

I can understand that we have been in the top six all season and many expect us to kick on and get promotion, but this is Walsall remember – we always do it the hard way!

During O’Driscolls tenure we have won six, drawn three and lost three – league and cup) if we continue that until the end of the season we will accumulate around 85 points – which in three out the last six seasons gone by would be enough to gain automatic promotion.

In August, many supporters were talking about taking the last play off spot with Wigan, Doncaster, Peterborough, Barnsley and Millwall taking the other five spots – only two of those sides are in there at present.

Lets not beat around the bush here WE ARE OVERACHIEVING some might not like that term being used but we are. At the start of the season we were fifth favorites to go down.

At times the likes of Sawyers, Henry and Lalkovic are producing some of the best football we have seen at this club for many years, so enjoy it!

Yes I understand this side is tiring and in need of fresh blood and yes O’Driscoll not playing Henry at left back is even more frustrating but this is the time to back the boys until the season ends.

Lets sit down and dissect the issues in May, for now lets stop barracking the players direct on Twitter and Facebook – as I have said previous the board have kept to their word to keep these players here, its upto us as supporters to keep backing the boys and push them over the line.
