Speaking to Express And Star Keates said that he knows what type of players he wants for next season in order to push the Saddlers higher up the League 1 table.
“There have been conversations over the past few weeks.”
“I have been speaking to players and we have been putting offers out.”
“Things have been happening on the back-burner because everything was about results.”
Dean Keates – Walsall Manager
Keates held talks with his current squad yesterday and talks are ongoing as he continues to shape the side he wants for next season. Erhun Oztumer, Joe Edwards, Reece Flanagan, Flo Cuvelier, Simeon Jackson and Amadou Bakayoko are the only players out of contract this summer but Keates has already hinted he isn’t afraid to put some on the transfer list if needed.
It will be a very interesting summer at Walsall and given Keates released nine players from Wrexham in his first pre season then you know he isn’t afraid to rebuild a side and let’s be honest this side needs rebuilding!
