Keates Holds Himself Accountable And Says It Hurts

Walsall boss Dean Keates didn’t shrug off his emotions at full time today following our 2-0 defeat to Blackpool.

Keates says he holds himself accountable for the Saddlers position and states it hurts him at where the club is – currently two points off relegation to League 2.

The Saddlers defeat to Blackpool today is our fifth defeat in our last six games with us freefalling towards League 2 football next season.

Keates has been backed by the board since arriving having added sixteen players to his squad however the rut doesn’t seem to be ending.

Keates has admitted that Tuesday night is a massive game for the football club.

Speaking to the Express And Star, Keates said

 “We’ve got a massive game for this football club now on Tuesday night”

“First quarter of the season, outstanding. Second quarter, nowhere near good enough. We are going into a 15-game season and we need to make sure we are giving this football club every chance of being in League One next season

“Im a local lad, Im accountable for it. And it hurts”
